The Cathy Kuhlmeier Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity founded to educate communities about Hazelwood v. Kuhlmeier (1988), a landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision that significantly impacted the First Amendment rights of student journalists. Through our work, we hope to strengthen student rights, doing our part to foster a generation of thought leaders and problem-solvers.
